چکیده

An Instrumented task board has been developed at NASA Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC). An overview of the task board design, and current development status is presented. The task board was originally developed to evaluate operator performance using the Protoflight Manipulator Arm (PFMA) at MSFC. The task board evaluates tasks for Orbital Replacement Unit (ORU), fluid connect and transfers, electrical connect/disconnect, bolt running and other basic tasks. The instrumented task board measures the 3-D forces and torques placed on the board, determines the robot arm's 3-D position relative to the task board using IR optics, and provides the information in realtime. The PFMA joint input signals can also be measured from a breakout box to evaluate Ihe sensitivity or response of the arm operation to control commands. The data processing system provides the capability for post processing of time-history graphics and plots of the PFMA positions, the operator's actions, and the PFMA serve reactions in addition to real-time force/torque data presentation. The instrumented task board's most promising use is developing benchmarks for NASA ccnters for comparison and evaluation of telerobotic performance.

Characterization of ZO-1, a protein component of the tight junction from mouse liver and Madin-Darby canine kidney cells

ZO-1, originally identified by mAb techniques, is the first protein shown to be specifically associated with the tight junction. Here we describe and compare the physical characteristics of ZO-1 from mouse liver and the Madin-Darby canine kidney (MDCK) epithelial cell line. The ZO-1 polypeptide has an apparent size of 225 kD in mouse tissues and 210 kD in canine-derived MDCK cells as determined...

Impaired insulin-induced vasodilation in small coronary arteries of Zucker obese rats is mediated by reactive oxygen species.

Insulin resistance (IR) and associated hyperinsulinemia are major risk factors for coronary artery disease. Mechanisms linking hyperinsulinemia to coronary vascular dysfunction in IR are unclear. We evaluated insulin-induced vasodilation in isolated small coronary arteries (SCA; approximately 225 microm) of Zucker obese (ZO) and control Zucker lean (ZL) rats. Vascular responses to insulin (0.1-...

Zonulin: A Potential Marker of Intestine Injury in Newborns

INTRODUCTION Zonulin (ZO), a new diagnostic biomarker of intestinal permeability, was tested in newborns presenting symptoms of infection and/or inflammation of the gut or being at risk of intestinal pathology. MATERIAL AND METHODS Serum ZO was assessed in 81 newborns diagnosed with sepsis, necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC), rotavirus infection, and gastroschisis, also in extremely low gestatio...

Vasoconstrictor mechanisms in the cerebral circulation are unaffected by insulin resistance.

Insulin-resistance (IR) impairs agonist-induced relaxation in cerebral arteries, but little is known about its effect on constrictor mechanisms. We examined the vascular responses of the basilar artery (BA) and its side branches in anesthetized Zucker lean (ZL) and IR Zucker obese (ZO) rats using a cranial window technique. Endothelin-1 (ET-1) constricted the BAs in both the ZL and ZO rats, but...
